Derek J. Miller

DEREK J. MILLER is an Associate at Floyd Advisory. He joins the firm with prior forensic accounting, dispute consulting, and complex business litigation experience in the manufacturing, real estate, private equity, and financial services industries. He also has an array of experience in the insurance, reinsurance, and asset management industries.

Mr. Miller has contributed analysis and assistance to forensic accounting investigations and corporate monitorship engagements. He has provided support to counsel through financial analyses and models related to the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in areas including revenue recognition, asset impairment, and accounting for multi-element manufacturing arrangements. He also has experience evaluating the reasonableness of public disclosures and financial reporting by public companies and assessing a company’s internal controls. His work has involved federal and state government agencies such as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the New York State Department of Financial Services.

Mr. Miller makes valuable contributions to our firm’s quarterly publications. His research focuses on current SEC accounting and audit enforcement initiatives.

Mr. Miller graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics. He is currently pursuing his Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner credentials.
